05 Jan Key Words: Former Trump aide calls Breitbart the ‘conscience’ of the presidency
Sam Nunberg, a former Donald Trump insider, has been making the cable-news rounds in the days since excerpts of the Michael Wolff book on the Trump White House began appearing — and not solely to contextualize his reported comment that Trump made it only to the Fourth Amendment when Nunberg attempted to walk him through the basics of the U.S. Constitution.
The Trump campaign aide, who has written for the far-right website Breitbart News, has also been called upon in these cable interviews to gauge the import of the apparent estrangements between the president and former chief White House strategist Steve Bannon; between Bannon and the right-wing donors the Mercer family; and, potentially, between the Breitbart board and Bannon, its executive chairman.
On that score, Nunberg, appearing on “Meet the Press Daily,” had this to say:
‘Breitbart, in a lot of ways, whether people like it or not, is the conscience of the Trump presidency.’
