Gate announced a partnership with Visa on October 8, 2026, to launch a crypto-linked card across more than 40 countries and territories. The card is planned for online and in-store purchases wherever Visa is accepted, with eligible digital assets automatically converted into fiat currency at checkout.

Its international scope would extend Gate’s payments offering beyond the earlier US-focused stablecoin card.

Gate’s announcement described the intended use of the card, but independent coverage said no complete market-by-market list, supported-asset list or final date for the full rollout had been published.

Gate targets more than 40 markets

The partnership places Gate among the crypto firms using established card networks to connect digital-asset balances with conventional merchant payments. At the point of sale, eligible assets will be converted to fiat, rather than being presented to merchants as crypto payments.

The card’s practical use therefore depends on Visa acceptance. Visa’s network spans more than 175 million merchant locations in over 200 countries and territories, according to the partnership announcement, while Gate’s planned launch is narrower, covering more than 40 countries and territories.

Gate described the product as a crypto-linked card, while its stated payment mechanism covers eligible digital assets. The announcement does not identify the assets that will qualify for conversion or specify how eligibility will differ across the planned markets.

Gate Money puts the card in its app

Users will be able to apply for and manage the card through the Gate app as part of Gate Money, Gate’s broader financial-services product combining digital assets and fiat currencies with equities, ETFs, gold, bank accounts and payments.

At Visa-accepting merchants, purchases are designed to trigger conversion of eligible digital assets into fiat. Gate has not publicly provided a complete list of markets where applicants can access the feature, supported assets or country-specific product configurations.

Visa’s stablecoin-card push

The Gate arrangement arrives against a larger Visa push into cards linked to stablecoins and other digital-asset payment services. Visa said that more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs were live globally and that payment volume across them had increased by nearly 200% year over year.

Those figures, also cited in the October 8 release, provide network context for Gate’s planned expansion, but they do not indicate the volume, uptake or launch timetable for Gate’s own card.

The partnership gives Gate access to a payment network with a far wider merchant footprint than the announced initial geographic scope. Whether that potential reach translates into access for a particular customer will depend on the markets and eligibility criteria ultimately supported by Gate.

Market-by-market availability remains unresolved

The international initiative follows Gate US’s separate July 10, 2026 launch of a Visa card developed with Visa, Stripe and Bridge for eligible U.S. users spending supported stablecoins, according to Gate US.

That disclosed stablecoin focus does not establish the asset range or terms of the newly announced international rollout. Independent coverage from Crypto.news said a complete public list of supported markets and assets was not yet public, and that no final go-live date had been set for every market; availability is expected to vary by region and eligibility rules.

For the broader Gate-Visa launch, the countries and territories supported at launch, the eligible assets in each location and the timetable for remaining markets therefore remain unresolved.
