The Los Angeles Dodgers have added Kalshi as a sponsor, putting the prediction market operator alongside a long-term casino partner that has publicly opposed the same market.

Kalshi branding appeared on digital outfield boards at Dodger Stadium, while a company decal was placed behind home plate during several home games in August 2026, Sportico reported.

A broadcast of the Pirates-Dodgers game on 22 August, circulated by theScore, separately showed Kalshi branding on the digital boards behind home plate.

Kalshi Enters a Stadium with an Existing Casino Partner

Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, owned by the San Manuel Nation, has been the Dodgers’ “Official California Casino Partner” since 2007. The relationship has continued for more than 15 years through a series of renewals.

San Manuel has taken a sharply different position on sports prediction markets. The tribe argues that its operation in California infringes tribal sovereignty and the exclusive gaming rights established under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

It argues that sports event contracts amount to unregulated Class III gambling presented as financial contracts under the supervision of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Traditional sports betting, meanwhile, remains prohibited in California.
The tribe previously spent about $103 million opposing a 2022 ballot initiative that would have legalised commercial online sports betting in the state.

It is now applying similar arguments to prediction-market products offered by companies including Kalshi, DraftKings and FanDuel.

MLB Already Separates Betting and Prediction Markets

A similar overlap already exists at league level. FanDuel holds co-exclusive status as an “Official Sports Betting Partner” of Major League Baseball, while Polymarket is the league’s “Official Prediction Market Exchange”.

MLB separated prediction markets sponsorship category from traditional sports betting. That structure allows the league to endorse both products even though each enables users to take positions on sporting outcomes, leaving FanDuel’s category exclusivity without protection from prediction-market competitors.

The NHL went further by becoming the first major league to name Kalshi and Polymarket official prediction market partners. The move prompted the American Gaming Association, which represents commercial and tribal gaming interests, to warn the NFL, NBA and MLB against similar agreements.

The group described the platforms as insufficiently regulated and lacking the game-integrity protections required in regulated betting.

At Dodger Stadium, however, the overlap appears within one team’s sponsorship portfolio: Kalshi and a tribal casino owner that views sports prediction markets as a threat to its rights.

San Manuel and Yaamava’ have not publicly responded to Kalshi’s arrival. The financial terms and duration of the Dodgers-Kalshi agreement also remain undisclosed.
