Meme coins have cemented their place in the cryptocurrency industry. Achieving a total market capitalization upwards of $130 billion.

It’s no longer a matter of whether or not they have merit. The people have spoken, and their voice is loud and clear – meme coins are here to stay.

Throughout the past year, one network has established itself as the home of the majority of meme coin activity: Solana.

Now, a brand new project is emerging from the sewers in an attempt to fuel a narrative different from the heavily populated dog and cat narratives.

RATs Run Free and Flood Crypto Streets

“We will displace the dogs and cats from above and crown a new king of memes. It will be a RAT!” – Rattus.

Rat Escape (RAT) is a meme coin on Solana that launched less than a week ago and has been in stealth mode until today. This means there hasn’t been any measurable attempt to market the token or get it out in front of the public—it flew entirely under the radar.

Taking a well-established approach and leadership model, Rat Escape is championed by Rattus, the leader of the rats.

The token was launched through Pump.Fun – the most commonly used launchpad for memes on Solana seven days ago with $50 capital – and managed to achieve a market capitalization of over $4 million in less than a few days. It is trading on Raydium – a decentralized exchange on Solana.

At the time of this writing, RAT is held by almost 1,000 people, achieving a well-balanced distribution, as seen in the bubble maps below. It has already been listed on CoinGecko as well.

A Closer Look

Spearheaded by Rattus, the project has already established a decentralized squad that will take care of operations, including well-known crypto personality Duo Nine (@DU09BTC), the creator of Your Crypto Community – a community of over 10,000 crypto enthusiasts created back in 2021.

Other team members of the Escape Plan Squad include BlockBard, who’s handling tech, and Nesha – the team’s internal market maker and tokenomics expert. The squad took inspiration from Satoshi’s vision in 2008. “Bitcoin is all of us.”

Speaking of tokenomics, Rat Escape’s total supply is 1,000,000,000 tokens, which is the standard token supply for meme coins launched on Pump.Fun. All of it is floating, meaning there are no secret locks. The liquidity has been locked and burned, as it is with other Pump.Fun launches as well. The creator and leader of this movement, Rattus, holds 2% of the total supply. According to Duo, he has diamond hands, like Satoshi.

The Escape Plan

The whole premise of RAT is to help its holders escape the rat race. This is a popular reference to people who are working tirelessly their entire lives, never managing to pull ahead and “escape” the chains of financial constraint.

Above everything else, RAT is a meme coin. As it is clearly disclaimed on the main website, RAT is a community-driven meme coin and makes no promises of return except having fun. Users can join the community Discord server to become part of the rat ranks and in what the team calls a RAT revolution.

There’s a short-term agenda as well, most of which has already been achieved, even though the project has been 100% in stealth mode. The team is teasing a major announcement on December 25th, coming from Rattus himself.
