Telegram’s premier Web 3 gaming platform Pixelverse partners with leading memecoins on Base to bring the memecoin characters to “life”. This follows a grant from Gate.io’s $50 million Meme fund.
Pixelverse, a leading game publisher with over 1 million monthly active players, announced its partnership with leading BASE memecoins to redefine the Web 3 gaming ecosystem and memecoin communities. Announced earlier this week, the partnership aims to revolutionize on-chain engagement and expand memecoins utility via the Web 3 gaming sector.
To kick off the partnership, Pixelverse announced the upcoming launch of its gaming title, MemeBattle, a tactical deck builder game created in collaboration with the top memecoins from the Base ecosystem, including Brett, Toshi, Keyboard Cat, Dog in Me, Mr Miggles, Mochi, Ski Mask Dog, Mochi and more.
According to Kori Leon, co-founder of Pixelverse, BASE blockchain offered the most promising option for the company to launch games due to several factors, including scalability, speed and cost efficiency. Speaking on the partnership, Leon said:
“Base offers a trusted, scalable platform with low fees and seamless wallet integration, making it the ideal choice for founders in Web3 gaming. We were excited to work with BRET and other leading memecoins as we’re embracing their rise as digital cultural icons and transformation into interactive experiences that engage communities in new ways through Web3 gaming,”
Launched in 2023, Pixelverse became one of the fastest-growing gaming platforms on Telegram, achieving viral success with over 75 million registered users and 5 million daily active players, making it one of Telegram’s top mini-games. The latest move shows the evolution of the platform, bringing in new gamified memecoins to players. The launch of MemeBattle aims to bring the memecoin characters into a tactical battlefield, pitting the memecoin communities in a fun, humorous and engaging game.
MemeBattle will leverage Base’s scalable infrastructure, low fees, and vibrant memecoin ecosystem to onboard users into Web3 gaming, driving engagement and adoption on-chain. It will bring familiar memecoins from the Base ecosystem, such as Brett, along with existing partners like Pudgy Penguins, MEW and Turbo, to life as playable characters, giving users the chance to build unique squads, strategize in battles, and climb leaderboards to earn rewards.
On its addition to MemeBattle, one of the spokespersons from Brett shared:
“Brett is coming to Pixelverse as a playable character, making him an integral part of web3 gaming. This will make memecoins like Brett more engaging and accessible. By leveraging Brett’s renowned IP, we aim to onboard more users onchain.”
Pixelverse growth has been a testament to the consistent development and investment placed into the project. It is backed by some of the leading Web 3 investors in gaming including Delphi Ventures, Mechanism Capital, and Merit Circle, and bolstered by tier-1 exchange listings like Bybit. In addition, the gaming platform also secured grant funding from Gate.io’s $50 million Meme Fund, set up to empower meme creators and drive community-focused projects with real-world applications.
As one of the first recipients, Pixelverse will use this support to elevate memecoins on Base by transforming tokens into gamified ecosystems through Web3 gaming. The transition from a clicker game into a gamified platform for memecoins is expected to transform and redefine Web 3 gaming engagement.
